A documentary on Depeche Mode and its fans

Who better than their fans to pay tribute to Depeche Mode?

The group Depeche Mode began in the early 1980s and will now be the subject of a new film documentary. Two filmmakers, Jeremy Deller and Nick Abrahams, wanted to discover why the band has such a solid fanbase that has stayed tuned in for decades.

The group started in Basildon, an English city about 40 km outside of London. Their first album released in 1980, Speak & Spell,  had the successful song Just Can’t Get Enough. Their popularity has only continued to grow and in 1990 the group was one of the biggest on the planet.

Documentary filmmakers of The Posters Came From The Walls spoke directly to fans around the world, especially in England, Germany and Russia. Fans from these three countries responded most to filmmaker requests.

One person interviewed for the film is well known in his own right. Nine Inch Nails singer Trent Reznor has never hidden his admiration for Depeche Mode. He talks about their influence in The Posters Came From The Walls which will be making its way into theatres at the end of 2010.
