Marshall Mosher was flying over Egypt’s pyramids on October 14 when he witnessed an unexpected scene: a dog atop the Great Pyramid of Giza.

He shared his video on Instagram, which has since garnered over 850,000 likes.
The next day, the paraglider returned to fly over the pyramid, hoping to find the dog atop the 481-foot-tall structure.
Mosher wondered if the dog was injured or in trouble, unable to climb back down.

Many people, following his viral video, dubbed him the “divine dog”, and many comments under the video referred to him as the physical incarnation of Anubis, an Egyptian god often depicted with a jackal’s head, similar to those local dogs found near the pyramids.
Unfortunately for him, the dog had left the pyramid… as he didn’t see it anywhere on his second approach.
