In the new romantic comedy, Sandler is set to play two parts, Jack and his twin sister, Jill, reports Variety.
Sandler will also act as a producer through his company Happy Madison.
The script will be written by a long-time friend of the actor, Steve Koren. The two men met on Saturday Night Live.
Jack and Jill is set to begin shooting in the beginning of 2010, and will be released one year later.
In the meantime, Adam Sandler will be starring in Grown Ups, in theatres on June 25, 2010. He will be sharing the screen with Salma Hayek, Rob Schneider, Chris Rock and Kevin James.
