According to the Internet site TrackingB.com, it seems that Shane Black, the creator of the Lethal Weapon films, is working with Joel Silver to create a fifth installment for the franchise.
The story would bring Martin Briggs (Gibson) back to solve one more case with the help of his former partner, Roger Murtaugh (Glover).
Gibson and Glover are reportedly ready to return to their roles, and also hope to convince Colombus Short (Stomp the Yard, Quarantine) to join the cast.
Directed by Richard Donner, the first Lethal Weapon film was released in 1987, and the last one was released in 1998.
Mel Gibson will be starring next year in the film Edge of Darkness, while Danny Glover can be seen on September 26 in the film Blindness.
