The Gucci luxury fashion house continues its partnership with UNICEF. Coco Perez reports its project helps children and orphans affected by AIDS in Africa.

Starting today and running until February 2011, Gucci will send 25% of profits from the sale of a special edition handbag to UNICEF.  Money raised will go to help UNICEF’s Schools for Africa project in Malawi and Mozambique.

UNICEF’s website elaborates on Gucci’s involvement: "In 2007, Frida Giannini created a special product to extend the company’s commitment to UNICEF throughout the year, to complement the holiday campaign… This year, Gucci celebrates the third anniversary of the Gucci for UNICEF campaign.  The launch of the Gucci for UNICEF Sukey bag in grey designed by Giannini, La Pelle Guccissima, will be sold in Gucci stores in over 20 countries worldwide and at gucci.com from April 15, 2010, until February 28, 2011."

The new Gucci for UNICEF bag is available at a price of $1,295 US.
