A Host for the Golden Globes
The Golden Globes has not had a host since 1995, but this year the program will go back to its original format, with Ricky Gervais as the master of ceremonies, reports Us magazine.
The British comic, who is best known for his work on Britain’s The Office and starred in the film The Invention of Lying, will be hosting the 67th Golden Globes on January 17. The ceremony will be broadcast live from the Beverly Hilton hotel in Log Angeles.
"Not only is this the biggest Hollywood celebration of the industry which includes both film and TV, but also an environment where I feel I can get free reign as a host. I have resisted many other offers like this, but there are just some things you don’t turn down," said Gervais of the gig.
Ricky Gervais is the proud owner of three Golden Globe trophies, as well as four Emmy awards.
