The Jonas Brothers will make their big-screen debut in the film based on the successful book series by William Kotzwinkle and Glenn Murray.
Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas, along with their younger brother, Frankie, will begin filming the project next spring.
In the film, Walter is a dog with a flatulence problem. The boys, who are also musicians in the film, are asked to look after Walter when his owner, their aunt, passes away.
While the three oldest boys work on their music, Frankie and the dog get into mischief, including freeing koi fish and stopping a jewel thief.
The film will be directed by brothers Peter and Bobby Farrelly.
