In this love story, directed by Stephen Daldry, a man tells the story of living in Germany with an older woman while the Second World War was happening around him. The movie is based on the book by Bernhard Schlink, and the screenplay was done by David Hare.
The production is being done by Anthony Minghella, Sydney Pollack and Scott Rudin. The movie will begin filming in September in Berlin.
Kidman, Daldry, Hare and Rudin have worked together previously in the movie The Hours. Kidman won an Oscar for her performance in that movie.
Nicole Kidman has also worked with Minghella in the movie Cold Mountain, as well as Pollack in The Interpreter. Ralph Fiennes worked with Minghella in The English Patient.
