After being out of the spotlight for 24 years, The Who is planning their next album. According to a ticket published on their website, guitarist Pete Townshend would like to work with producer T-Bone Burnett.
Townshend explained that Burnett is an old friend of his. He added, "I am hoping to come up with some songs for a more conventional Who record."
In addition to this project, The Who would like to participate in a few summer festivals in Japan next fall, and do some concerts that would coincide with the release of a documentary (Amazing Journey), about the band.
Townshend stated, "I would want to do that purely for fun, and I don’t want to turn it into a big tour. I need to stay focused on my writing."
