Laurence Mark and Bill Condon, who are responsible for televising the Oscars gala, were very impressed with Ricky Gervais during the last Emmy Awards that they’re considering him as the entertainer for next Oscars ceremony, taking place on February 22.
"The buzz around town is that Ricky should host the Oscars," a source told Entertainment Weekly.
Previous Oscar events were hosted by Jon Stewart, Billy Crystal, Whoopi Goldberg and Steve Martin.
