Nu Image/Millenium Films has given the green light for Rambo 5, reports Variety.
Stallone will be back as the Vietnam war veteran in the fifth instalment of the film franchise, and will also serve as the project’s director. Filming is set to begin in the spring.
This time, Rambo will face drug lords who are also involved in human trafficking to save a young girl who was kidnapped at the Mexico/United States border.
Last year, the fourth Rambo film earned $42 million at American box offices, and $113 million worldwide.
Sylvester Stallone is currently finishing work on the film The Expendables, which hits theatres on April 23, 2010.
