A New Romantic Comedy from Universal Pictures

Universal Pictures was inspired by an article in L.A. Weekly to write the romantic comedy Divorced.

The article, Divorced by 30, which appeared in L.A. Weekly and was written by Sasha Rothchild, served as a source of inspiration for the romantic comedy Divorced.

Marc Platt and Dana Fox will be producing the film. Platt was behind the box-office smash Legally Blonde, and also directed the upcoming film, Wanted, starring Angelina Jolie, coming out on June 27.

Fox wrote the screenplay for the 2005 film The Wedding Date, as well as What Happens in Vegas, which opens May 9 with Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz.

Divorced is a story about a woman whose preconceived notions of marriage are subsequently changed in reality.
