Sephora cosmetic stores decided to launch a series of perfumes that celebrate music icons.
After launching the Sex Pistols perfume, Sephora now introduces a new fragrance called Josephine Baker.
This new scent has notes of grapefruit, champagne accord, cardamon, jasmine, curry jungle essence, black pepper, labdanum, sandalwood and lorenox.
It was created by perfumer Cécile Matton who has collaborated on the creation of such fragrances as Baby Doll by Yves Saint Laurent, Must by Cartier and Belles de Minuit by Nina Ricci.
Josephine Baker was an American ex-pat entertainer and actress. She became a French citizen in 1937. She was the first African American to star in a major motion picture. She was also the first American-born woman to receive the French military honour Croix de Guerre.
The Josephine Baker fragrance will be available at Sephora stores in May.
