For the actor who is a favourite of filmmaker Tim Burton, life is now a series of small celebrations following the hospitalisation of his 8 year-old daughter in London earlier this year.
Depp, who has refused to give the specific illness that Lily-Rose suffered from, was at the time filming the musical drama Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Director Tim Burton granted Depp a bit of latitude so that the star could be at his daughter’s side.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly magazine, Depp revealed that he has learned a profound lesson with the experience. He said, "Now every single millisecond is a mini-celebration. Every time we get to breathe in and exhale is a huge victory."
Depp and his girlfriend, Vanessa Paradis, are also the parents of Jack, 5.
