A Remake of Videodrome

A remake of the film Videodrome is currently underway at Universal Pictures.

Universal Pictures is currently working on a remake of the 1983 film by David Cronenberg, Videodrome, reports Variety.

Ehren Kruger (The Ring, The Skeleton Key) was hired to write the script for the new version.

In the 1983 film, James Wood played lead role of a television station director who, to spice up the program line-up, chose to broadcast a series of shows featuring torture scenes and murders that manipulate the minds of viewers.

The remake will be based on modern times and will include elements of nanotechnology.

At the moment, Cronenberg is not involved in the project.
