With the arrival of their new baby expected in January, Richie and Madden got a taste of parenthood by spending the day with nearly 200 children at the party, reported People magazine.
The party took place at the Paramount Studios in Los Angeles on Saturday (December 22), and was given by the Richie-Madden Children’s Foundation. Richie said, "We really wanted to give these kids a really wonderful and special Christmas. It’s our favorite holiday."
The two stars played Santa and Mrs. Claus by giving gifts to the children from Beyond Shelter, a program that helps families in need.
Madden added, "It’s fun for us to be with a bunch of kids who are having a good time. They make you smile. Hopefully for today they’re feeling special." The foundation is "really important to me [and] it’s really important to Nicole. We’re just really happy to be a part of the community and celebrating with these kids who haven’t been as fortunate as us."
