A Third X-Files Flick in the Works

Gillian Anderson confirmed that a third X-Files film is in development.

Anderson revealed the news while attending the Sarajevo Film Festival.

According to IMDb.com, the actress added that the project is in the early stages, but may begin shooting in 2012.  The star said that she’d be thrilled to return to her role as Dana Scully, but for now, it’s unclear if David Duchovny would return as Fox Mulder.

The last film of the franchise, The X-Files: I Want to Believe, was released in 2008.

In the meantime, we can next see Gillian Anderson in the comedy No One Gets Off in This Town next year.
