The trailer for the new installment in the franchise was unveiled at Super Bowl LVIII, not without enthusiasm from fans of the saga.

The trailer confirms the passing of the torch to a younger generation, as the fate of humans now seems to lie in the hands of a young girl, played by Freya Allan. The cast also includes William H. Macy and Dichen Lachman.
