A Tribute Concert for Haydain Neale

The death of Canadian singer Haydain Neale of Jacksoul has touched many people in the music world.

Artists will honour the memory of Haydain Neale, who died last week on Sunday, November 22, after a 7-month battle with lung cancer.

A benefit concert with proceeds going to the family trust fund, which the singer established before his death, will headline singer Nelly Furtado, K-OS, Keshia Change, Luke McMaster, Justin Nozuka and Divine Brown, artists that Neale had influenced in the Ontarian music scene.

The concert will take place at the Phoenix Concert Theatre on December 7, and tickets will go on sale tomorrow (December 2) for $20.

Haydain Neale’s life took an unfortunate turn in 2007 when he was involved in an accident with his Vespa scooter. The accident sent him into a coma and the singer sustained serious injuries. In the early months of 2009, he was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer.

His group Jacksoul released their fifth album, SOULmate, today (December 1). Again, profits from album sales will go to the Haydain Neale Family Trust.
