Actor Aaron Eckhart is glad that his co-star in The Dark Knight, Heath Ledger, won the Golden Globe for best supporting actor for his role as the Joker.
"It’s fantastic. It’s wonderful. I couldn’t be happier," he proclaimed to UsMagazine.com.
When Ledger’s name was announced for the win, the audience rose for a standing ovation.
The film’s director, Christopher Nolan, accepted the award on behalf of the late actor with a mix of sadness and pride. "For any of us lucky enough to have worked with him or to have enjoyed his performance, he will be eternally missed, but he will never be forgotten," the director stated while on stage.
