Adele to release new single July 4

Rolling in the Deep singer plans to release third single from hit album.

It’s been an amazing year for 23-year-old singer-songwriter Adele Adkins as she takes over the world chart, with her album 21 at number one in 17 countries and over 7 million copies sold, achieving a double hit in America with both the number one single and album, reports Music News.

The album’s third single, Set Fire to the Rain, is due for release on July 4. Already released as a second single in a few European countries, the song peaked at number one in the Netherlands.

The track was co-written with producer Fraser T. Smith and, unlike the understated production of most of the album’s songs, Set Fire to the Rain has been characterized as a ‘power ballad,’ with lush instrumentation and a swelling string arrangement, creating a wall of sound for the singer’s mournful vocals.

The singer was recently forced to postpone her sold-out North American tour due to laryngitis.

“I’m really frustrated. I was hoping with a week’s rest I’d be better to sing again straight away. However there is absolutely nothing I can do but take the doctors’ advice and rest some more. I’m so sorry. See you soon, love Adele”

Plans to reschedule these cancelled tour dates are being investigated; more information will be provided when available.
