Adidas launches new fragrance for women

Sportswear brand unveils new fruity, floral scent aimed at athletic young women.

The Adidas sportswear brand has unveiled a new fragrance called Happy Game, reports Basenotes. Aimed at athletic young women, the perfume consists of fruity and floral scents housed in a green bottle.

Fruity top and heart notes include melon flower, cranberry, clementine, freesia, and jasmine, over base notes of light wood, musk and amber.

Happy Game hits shelves in March, and the Eau de Toilette will be available in 30 mL and 50 mL decanters. The Happy Game line will also include shower gel, deodorant spray and body lotion.

German-based Adidas is Europe’s largest manufacturer of sportswear, and is second worldwide only to Nike. The brand was founded in 1948 by Adolf Dassler, following a business split from his brother Rudolf, who would go on to found Puma.

Since then, the brand has expanded from sportswear to also include a fashion line titled Adidas Original, inspired by classic Adidas style and featuring the original trefoil logo.

Last month, Adidas also launched a new collaboration with designer Stella McCartney, releasing three new lines under the label adidas by Stella McCartney. McCartney has also been appointed creative director for Great Britain’s 2012 Olympic uniforms by Adidas, the first time a high fashion designer has designed a country’s entire line of Olympic and Paralympic apparel.
