Adoption Postponed for Madonna

The legal process for the adoption of an African boy by Madonna was postponed for a week.

According to the website Contactmusic, the case will resume on December 1.  The judge explained that he is too busy at the moment to make a ruling.  Nearly 67 human rights groups are prostesting the adoption of little David Banda, 1, by Madonna and her husband, Guy Ritchie.

The rights groups are claiming that the adoption laws of the region are not being respected, and benefitting Madonna because of her celebrity status.  Last week, a judge decided to take more time investigating the claim.

The boy’s father, Yohane Banda, has been in court for all of the hearings.  Justin Dzonzi, a lawyer for the man, explained, "The judge has not communicated to me or my colleague but we hear that he is very busy and he might rule next week."
