Agyness Deyn becomes a designer

Model Agyness Deyn shows off her design flair by collaborating with Barneys Japan.

Another model has decided to leave the runway and try her hand at designing and creating her own clothing line, reports Coco Perez.

British Agyness Deyn has hooked up with the Japanese branch of Barneys to create an eco-friendly clothing collection.

Deyn helped to create an 11-piece collection for Barneys Japan that includes dresses, t-shirts, knits, leggings and scarves. It will be available exclusively in Barney’s Tokyo store in the coming weeks.

These clothes are part of the company’s Go Green Go campaign. Part of the proceeds will go toward planting new trees in Mongolia.

Deyn is also launching an online magazine called Naag with her best friend Fiona Byrne. Byrne is a former editor of NME.com.

The girls are styling their venture after the U.S. magazine Jane. Byrne told Grazia, "I miss the attitude of Jane. It was funny and it was intimate. You felt like you knew the writers. It was cool, but it wasn’t just downtown New York."
