A spokesperson for the 30 Rock sitcom, in which Baldwin plays Jack Donaghy, has denied the rumour that the 51-year-old actor is running for senator against Joseph Lieberman for the state of Connecticut in 2012.
During an interview with CNN on Sunday (August 23), Lieberman even challenged Baldwin to run against him.
Playboy magazine reported that Baldwin had plans to go into politics. It seems, however, that the actor was cited incorrectly, and that his fans will not be seeing him enter the political arena anytime soon. Baldwin has no intentions of moving to Connecticut to become Lieberman’s adversary, and even remarked that the current senator is doing a good job.
