Alec Baldwin’s stalker wants ‘closure’
A woman jailed for stalking Alec Baldwin still wants to speak to the actor.
Genevieve Sabourin – who was released from New York’s Rikers Island prison on March 31 after being sentenced to 180 days behind bars last November – is seeking »closure » from the ’30 Rock’ star in a bid to put her past behind her.
She said: »I don’t have his side of the story, so I feel like I don’t have the full truth. I wanted to understand his side. On my quest for closure, I want to understand why he did this to me. »
Genevieve was arrested outside the 55-year-old actor’s home in April 2012 and subsequently found guilty of five counts of harassment and stalking and says she has »lost everything » as a result of her conviction.
She told RadarOnline.com: »I can’t take anything back. The truth is I lost my house, my savings, my retirement plan, my job, [and] my friends. I lost everything.
»I just wasn’t rich and powerful enough to save myself. »
The French-Canadian beauty is now looking to the future and claims she has acting offers »piling in ».
She said: »The past is the past. There’s nothing I can change. It has been a tough ride, but this isn’t the time for a breakdown. I’m ready to bounce back. In America, people rise from the ashes, and I’m strong enough to do that.
»I’m finally back on track and ready to show people who I really am. I want to be an inspiration, to prove that even if you fall down, you can rise again. »
The actress’ lawyer previously claimed his client had a brief »sexual relationship » with Alec in 2010 and he subsequently gave her the »cold shoulder », prompting her to »seek closure » from him.
However, Alec has denied they were ever romantically involved.
