Alicia Keys is not retiring

Alicia Keys says she will not leave the music biz when she turns 30.

Singer Alicia Keys has denied rumours she is planning to retire when she turns 30. TeenMusic reports that she wants to keep making music.

It was recently reported that Keys, who took a break in 2006, planned to exit the industry when she turned 30. However, the star, who just celebrated her 29th birthday, says she still has a lot to achieve before putting down the mike for good.

She states, "I was just saying that I would like the option to be able to retire by 30. I feel very blessed… but I definitely have so much more to do. I have so many things that I want to do, so many more things I want to get involved in, important things I want to do… I have to perform, I love it so much."

Alicia Keys took part in last Friday’s (January 22) Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief organized by George Clooney. The event raised funds to help earthquake victims in Haiti. The telethon has raised more than $57 million American so far.
