Alicia Keys told Rolling Stone in an interview that she would like to collaborate with the White Stripes. The singer said, “They’re very raw, very cut and dry. It’s like drums and guitar. It’s that simple, and I love that.”
Keys admitted that ever since her duet with Keith Urban at the Live Earth concert last year, she has been inspired to team up with the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, Linkin Park and Coldplay. However, Jack and Meg White are at the top of her list.
“I think that combining that style with mine, which already has a raw feel to it, and my voice, I just think we could do something really interesting that mixes rock and soul together, the blues and emotion, and it could be really touching,” explains Keys. The star concluded by saying that she has had discussions with the duo, and that the project will certainly materialize when the time comes.
