Silverstone will not be making an appearance on How I Met Your Mother after learning that Spears will appear on the same episode.
The actress, who is a fan of the series, was to appear in the 14th episode of the season. Silverstone felt that the appearance would be too chaotic. A source close to the star revealed, "Alicia was really excited about appearing on the show, but when she found out she would have to share the spotlight with Britney she wasn’t too keen. She knows that everyone would be going out of their way to look after Britney, and it would be so chaotic nobody would look after her."
According to the latest rumours, Silverstone will be replaced in the episode by Sarah Chalke, a star of the television series Scrubs.
