The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning people with milk allergies not to consume the Mrs. Freshley’s brand multipack cereal bars. The affected products may contain milk which is not declared on the label.
The following Mrs. Freshley’s brand multipack cereal bars affected by this alert include the six-pack of 28 g cereal bars labeled Apple Cinnamon Fruit & Pastry Cereal Bars, Blueberry Fruit & Pastry Cereal Bars, and Strawberry Fruit & Pastry Cereal Bars.
These products have been distributed in Ontario and Quebec and may also have been distributed nationally. There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.
Consumption of these products could cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to milk.
The U.S. manufacturer, Flowers Foods in Thomasville, Georgia, is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace. The CFIA is working with the manufacturer to have the affected product removed from the marketplace.
