Amanda Bynes has had one charge of driving on a suspended license dropped.
The 27-year-old actress was facing two counts of driving on a suspended licence after incidents at Burbank Airport in California last year but after her lawyer entered a no contest plea on her behalf in court on Thursday (05.09.13), the second offence was thrown out, according to RadarOnline.
Amanda – who now lives in New York and wasn’t present for the hearing – was placed on three years informal probation and ordered to have a valid driver’s license when driving a car in California.
The ‘Easy A’ actress – who has sparked concern for her welfare in recent months after a series of bizarre incidents – recently reached out to her worried parents, Lynne and Rick, months after cutting off all contact with them.
A source said: "Amanda reconnected with her parents this week and it was a really positive talk on both ends.
"Her parents are good people who are genuinely concerned for her. And Amanda misses them, so she finally called them up."
Amanda refused to move back to Los Angeles in March so her family could keep a closer eye on her but has now told them they can come to visit her in New York to see that she is doing okay.
The insider said: "The last place Amanda wants to be is Los Angeles. She likes New York and doesn’t want to leave.
"But Amanda’s parents really want to see her so they’re thinking of flying out to New York as early as next week.
"Amanda is totally acting odd, but she’s not crazy at all like people are making her out to be.
"She’s just going through a hard time in her life and maybe not coping with it like she should be."
