Amazing Pre-Columbian Exhibition in Paris

Pre-Columbian times are being featured in a Paris exposition.

Since Tuesday, the Quai Branly museum in Paris has been showing an important exhibition on the pre-Columbian times of the Teotihuacan city located in Mexico.

The exhibition showcases around 450 exceptional pieces of Teotihuacan culture, the great city of ancient Mexico which has lead to many important discoveries.

In the city that the Aztecs called "the place where gods are born," the museum features wall paintings, ritual masks, statues, ornaments and objects from the tombs. It also shows the social organization, daily life, mythology, traditions and art of this civilization that mysteriously disappeared.

Objects from private collections, including that of painter Diego Rivera, illustrate the military dimension of this culture.

The Teotihuacan, Cité des Dieux exhibition will be on display until January 24, 2010.
