Amber Heard made the announcement on Instagram earlier today (Dec. 19) that she was dropping her appeal process that she began in early December following the ruling in her defamation lawsuit against her ex-husband, Johnny Depp.
According to TMZ, a settlement, very favorable to the actress, was reached between Depp and Heard, and Amber would only pay $1 million of the $10.5 million ordered by the jury.

One wonders, however, what the reason for this sudden change is.
Will we soon see an announcement about a new professional project for the actress?
Or does she simply want to turn the page on this dark period of her life and focus on her family life, especially with her daughter Oonagh Paige Heard?
Certainly, the monetary agreement played a big role…
Recall that the trial of the ex-spouses was one of the most followed events of the year, when Depp accused Heard of damaging his reputation and a jury agreed with him.
However, hate messages against the actress have increased tenfold this year on the heels of the high-profile trial and Johnny’s fan club has not been kind to the actress.
