Director Takashi Shimizu, screenwriter Stephen Susco and producers Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Taka Ichise will all return for the new project. Arielle Kebbel and Teresa Palmer also star in the film.
Tamblyn will play the younger sister of the character played in the original movie by Sarah Michelle Gellar. New characters in the sequel will be confronted with fear and death in the sequel. Kebbel and Palmer (December Boys) will play American students visiting Tokyo.
