Amy Adams headed to The Orphanage?

The Fighter actress in talks for remake of Spanish horror film.

Actress Amy Adams (Junebug, Doubt, The Fighter) is in talks for a remake of the Spanish horror film The Orphanage, reports Worst Previews.

The producer of the original version, Guillermo del Toro, director of Oscar-winning Pan’s Labyrinth, is also executive producer for the American remake and interested in Adams for the main role of Laura. Mark Pellington (The Mothman Prophecies) is set to direct the remake.

The original was written by Sergio Sanchez and directed by J.A. Bayona, and tells the story of a woman who returns to her childhood home, an orphanage, planning to turn it into a home for disabled children, when her adopted son goes missing.

Adams, 37, is awaiting a release date for the Jack Kerouac adaptation of On the Road in which she costars with Kristen Stewart, Kirsten Dunst and Viggo Mortensen. She also stars with Jason Segel in The Muppets, due in theaters on November 23.
