The singer of the successful Back to Black was arrested in London on Tuesday, December 18.
A spokesperson for the police confirmed the news, saying, "A 24-year-old woman has been arrested by appointment at an east London police station. She is currently in custody. The arrest was in connection with an investigation into perverting the course of justice."
Shortly after her arrest, Winehouse was released and will have to appear in court in March on the charges.
Earlier this week, Winehouse made news by saying that she had made a suicide pact with her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil. The singer said that she would rather take her own life than spend time away from her lover.
Last October, the singer was arrested in Norway for possession of marijuana.
