The British singer wound up in the hospital last night (November 15) after suffering side effects from cold medication.
The star, who already takes medication to keep her substance abuse under control, began to feel some cold symptoms coming on last week. She then picked up some medication at a pharmacy, but the mix caused secondary side effects, forcing the singer to be hospitalised in a London clinic.
A source revealed, "Amy took over-the-counter stuff for a cold but it didn’t agree with medication she takes for her on-going recovery. She felt rubbish when she woke on Sunday morning."
The source continued to say that a doctor examined Winehouse in her home, but suggested that she go to the hospital to be on the safe side. Heeding the doc’s advice, the star spent the night in the hospital under observation.
Winehouse recently became the object of several rumours concerning her relationship with her ex-husband, Blake Fielder-Civil. However, she categorically denies wanting to get back together with him.
