The singer is now being treated for exhaustion after losing consciousness in her England home.
A doctor went to Winehouse’s residence, and discovered that the star’s recent chest infection, combined with stress, which stems from her arrest for assaulting a theatre manager, were the alleged culprits of her latest episode.
A source close to Winehouse told the Daily Mirror, "She’s been told to keep a low profile and fully recuperate. She has been feeling very ill of late and had a funny turn at home. She is quite unwell and exhausted over recent events but is soldiering on."
The singer’s friend was quick to add that Winehouse hasn’t begun doing drugs again, and that she is drinking in moderation. The friend stated, "The last week has been a massive setback for Amy, who was really turning a corner. Everyone in her camp is shocked by what has happened. The New Year doesn’t look set to get off to a good start, but Amy is determined and she’ll keep looking forward."
