Controversial British singer Amy Winehouse gave her first concert in two years this weekend, after taking time off to try to overcome her addiction to alcohol and drugs. However, it appears that the singer may have picked up where she left off.
Winehouse was reportedly back in good health and ready to relaunch her career with a series of concerts – starting with Moscow – but reports from Russia suggest the singer had downed a bottle of whisky backstage and was drunkenly swaying and slurring words during her performance.
Nevertheless she was popular among the wealthy Russian crowd which included billionaire Mikhail Prohorov and Sergei Kapkovym, head of the Russian Football Association.
Winehouse arrived at the city’s Vnukovo Airport on Thursday where two Mercedes vans whisked her and her entourage to a luxurious hotel. Winehouse has been one of most popular singers among rich Russians after it was revealed her grandmother had emigrated from Russia.
