Amy Winehouse premieres fashion collection

British pop star celebrates launch of clothing collection with a private concert.

British singer Amy Winehouse played a secret gig in London to celebrate the launch of her collection of Fred Perry clothing, reports thisislondon.co.uk.

Accompanied only by her keyboardist, Sam Beste, Winehouse, 27, took the stage at the Fred Perry store in London dressed in one of her own numbers, an Argyle sweater dress.

The singer performed four songs in front of a small audience of 20, comprised mainly of contest winners.

“I can’t wait to see girls out in my designs. I’m really excited about doing this collection,” said Winehouse.

The singer also posed for the ad campaign in November’s Vogue which features her 17-item fashion collection of mostly pink and black coats, sweaters and skirts.

“The collection I’ve done is so classic, because their style and my style are pretty much the same. Fred Perry is my be all and end all. I’ve always loved it, always worn it, and it feels like a living dream,” said Winehouse.

Winehouse turned her attention to designing after her ex-husband went to prison in 2008 for assault and obstruction of justice. “I went through a lot of trouble with my ex-husband, so I had such a long time to think about the collection.”
