Amy Winehouse’s Album Postponed

Amy Winehouse is in no hurry to start recording despite the pressure from her record label.

Winehouse cancelled a trip to the Bahamas which was organised by her record company.  The artist was going to record her next album with producer Salaam Remi during the trip to the Caribbean.

Island Records is now saying that the new album by Winehouse, 25, will be released at the end of the year.

A source at Island Records admitted that they wanted to distance the artist from Britain, where she has a few bad influences.  They believe that the singer needs an environment that is more conducive to her work.  The new album is following Back to Black, which sold 8 million copies worldwide.

"She’s not the kind of artist you can just stick in the studio for a month and get an album done. And I now think early 2009 would be a good result," commented a source from The Sun.
