Ancient Car Design Exhibition In Miami

Miami Beach takes us back to the past.

Miami Beach, Florida is best known for its colorful buildings that reflect an ancient architectoral period. It is therefore entirely appropriate that this city is hosting an exhibition highlighting the time when cars were designed by hand.

The exhibition entitled, Styled for the Road: The Art of Automobile Design, 1908 to 1948, begins today (October 16) and will continue until March 14, 2010. Drawings and miniature reproductions of fine cars of this era, including round, sharp  and racy types, will be on display at this exhibition.

Fred Sharf, a collector who loaned many images to the exhibition, said that it’s a pity that this art has been lost with the advent of the computer.

The exhibition will take place at the International Wolfsonian Museum at the University of Florida.
