People reports that Jolie and Pitt donated one million dollars on behalf of their foundation to the Doctors Without Borders organisation, whose three hospitals were severely damaged in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, forcing staff members to work outdoors.
On Tuesday (January 12), an earthquake that measured 7.0 on the Richter Scale completely devastated Haiti’s capital. Still today (January 14), there is not a clear estimate on the number of victims affected, but the current death toll circulating the media is at 100 000.
While international relief is set to arrive at the scene today, several stars are doing what they can to help. Once again, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have shown their generosity.
"It is incredibly horrible to see a catastrophe of this size hit a people who have been suffering from extreme poverty, violence and unrest for so many decades," said Jolie.
"We understand the first response is critical to serve the immediate needs of countless people who are now displaced from their homes, are suffering trauma, and most require urgent care," Pitt added.
