Angelina Jolie designs jewellery for charity

Hollywood actress announces she will be designing jewellery to help benefit children’s charity.

Angelina Jolie, 35, revealed that she will be designing high-end jewellery to benefit her charity The Education Partnership for Children of Conflict. The actress will work with former Asprey designer, Robert Procop, to create luxury items featuring large and dramatic cuts of gems, including a 12-carat emerald, reports Daily News.

The expensive jewels will not be sold in stores, but will only be available for purchase through a network of Procop’s clients, and all proceeds will go directly to Jolie’s charity, which aims to help educate children who have been victims of conflict, war, and natural disasters.

This is not the first time that Jolie has worked with Procop. Last summer, the pair worked together to come up with the necklace she wore to the premiere of Salt, and Procop designed much of the jewellery Jolie’s character wore in her film The Tourist. Just this past spring, she and husband Brad Pitt collaborated with Asprey on a pair of serpent cufflinks made of white gold and black diamonds, with proceeds also going towards EPCC.

Jolie has a long history of humanitarian work and has been a Goodwill Ambassador of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees since 2001. She has received much recognition for her efforts, including a 2003 Citizen of the World Award from the United Nations Correspondents Association and a 2005 Global Humanitarian Award by the United Nations Association of the United States of America.
