Jolie may now lose custody of her adopted daughter, according to FemaleFirst. The actress was devastated to learn that the 24 year-old biological mother wants her daughter back.
Mentewab Dawit Lebiso, who is Zahara’s birth mother, said, "I want my daughter to come home to see where she is from. Her grandmother and I both tried very hard to raise her, and I want her to come home to regain her identity."
Lebiso claims that she never signed adoption papers and that she was deceived by local authorities, who promised that she would be allowed to see her baby.
Wide Horizons for Children, the agency that Jolie used for the adoption, says that the adoption is completely legal.
"I thought the baby was going to die because there was no food, so I ran away."
