Angelina Jolie privately spent two days (October 22 and 23) in Afghanistan to visit the country’s impoverished families.
The actress was on location fulfilling her role as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commission for Refugees, and met with former refugees who are now returning to their country to rebuild their lives.
Back on American soil, Jolie declared, "The courage, resilience and quiet dignity of returnee families rebuilding their lives against the kind of adversity few of us can imagine shows the human spirit at its best."
