Scary Movie film series star, Anna Faris, is tipped to join the cast of Ghostbusters 3 as part of a rookie ghostbusting team that could also include Bill Hader (Superbad) and Will Forte (MacGruber).
As the next generation of ghostbusters, they would get the opportunity to work with the original team of Harold Ramis, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson, along with Sigourney Weaver, who have all agreed to appear in this new sequel.
Ivan Reitman will once again direct the sequel based on a script by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky (The Office). The film is expected to begin shooting in late 2011, allowing for a Christmas release in 2012.
Anna Faris has a role in upcoming Yogi Bear slated for release on December 17. She is also working on a retro comedy film called Take Me Home Tonight which will be seen on the big screen next March 4, 2011.
