The Weinstein Company has acquired the film rights to the biography Get Happy: The Life of Judy Garland, written by Gerard Clarke.
Hathaway will star in the lead role of the film, which was based on several interviews with Garland, as well as the late star’s own autobiography, which was never published.
The film will cover the highs and lows of the star’s turbulent life, including success as a child star, and later tragedies. The biography was published in March 2001.
In the meantime, we can see Anne Hathaway in the film Alice in Wonderland, expected to reach theatres on March 5, 2010.
