Anne Hathaway’s Ex Hopes for the Best

Raffaello Follieri, the ex-boyfriend of actress Anne Hathaway, is hoping that the court will be lenient with him.

Raffaello Follieri hopes that the Manhattan Federal Court will be more lenient than his ex-girlfriend, Anne Hathaway, was.

Follieri would prefer to get a three-year prison sentence rather than the suggested five years and three months.

His attorney, Flora Edwards, says that her client had good intentions when he lied to investigators, especially concerning his non-existent ties with the Vatican. He got carried away by his life of luxury and lacked the resources to maintain it.

Follieri pleaded guilty to 14 counts of fraud, money laundering and conspiracy.

He has been in jail since the month of June, because he could not pay the $21-million bail.

His sentence will be ruled on October 23.
