The 35-year-old actor will be playing Ripcord, the leader of the military unit. The rest of the cast includes Rachel Nichols, Sienna Miller, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Saïd Taghmaoui. They will be directed by Stephen Sommers.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt may also be joining the cast. He is still negotiating with Paramount Pictures. Filming begins next month and the movie will be in theatres on August 7, 2009.
Wayans, star of Little Man and The Ladykillers, is also working with his brothers, Shawn and Keenen Ivory to do a police film for Paramount Pictures.
